living my best life

living my best life

I’m a card carrying, preach from the roof tops, love every bit of it, move nourish believer (if you haven’t heard of Move Nourish Believe, it is the brain child of Lorna Jane, CEO of Australian women’s fitness and lifestyle brand, Lorna Jane). I have the books, the screensaver on my iPhone, the bookmark to the website and particular articles which have resonated with me printed out and filed neatly in a pink folder. Yep, I’m hooked.

So when I came across an article on MNB about living a life you love, written by Kate Burbidge, naturally I read it. It included an exercise where you take stock of an average day in your life, the tasks and priorities, and give each an out-of-ten rating for happiness and importance. You then use this to build your ideal day, aiming to achieve maximum scores for happiness and importance (using the MNB active living philosophy of course). Yep I’ll do this, and three months down the track I have.

I first reflected on a relatively normal, every day, day. I struggle to get out of bed (this morning I even slept an hour beyond my alarm), stumble to the shower and have breakfast. Only after this am I finally awake! Work is mostly sedentary, I eat lunch at my desk, and by mid-afternoon I’m battling the sugar cravings (mostly I win, which is pleasing)! But at 4.30pm I’m ready to crash on the couch. Despite this, I generally make time for exercise after work, though lately I’ve not been so disciplined. A new gym should change this. Dinner is always home-cooked and nutritious and then it’s onto the couch for some rest and relaxation before bed at about 10-10.30am. I’m actually not doing too badly! However there is probably too much online time in my day, I want to work on reducing this, and I also want to schedule in more times to move. This is what I have come up with.

I’m not going to lie, the first thing in my day is going to be HARD to do, but I think the reward will be worth it.

What will you do each and every day to live a life you love?
